The poetry of dialects and the landscape of images
The project was created with the aim of enhancing the cultural and linguistic richness of the cross-border area by rediscovering and preserving its dialects and giving a new voice to the poetry of the territory. Through a process of research, collection, and sharing, the project sought to highlight the diversity of local expressions and transform them into a tool for dialogue between generations and communities.
A central element of the project was the active involvement of people who are often on the margins of cultural processes: elderly residents of care homes and young people living in contexts with fewer opportunities. Through dedicated workshops, participants contributed to the rediscovery of the area’s intangible cultural heritage, translating poems into different local dialects and creating short films inspired by poetic texts.
The results of this process were collected in a 180-page publication, a true archive of memory and creativity that includes poetry translations, photographs, links to short films, and audio recordings of poetry readings in the dialects of the cross-border area.
The project contributed to raising public awareness of the linguistic and cultural diversity of the territory, highlighting its beauty and identity value. Through culture and local heritage, it strengthened the visibility of the area and supported its promotion within the framework of GO! 2025, European Capital of Culture.
