KISS&GO
Bilingual Kisses - A game for the shared exploration of Italian and Slovenian language
One of the challenges identified in the cross-border area was the need to give equal status to the Italian and Slovenian languages. In this regard, the KISS & GO! project aimed to improve passive bilingualism among the population through cross-border events. Using an innovative approach based on IT technologies and direct interactions, the partners implemented an app to informally discover the neighbour’s language.
Project activities included the installation of an interactive multimedia display in four shopping malls in both Italy and Slovenia, an app in the form of a mini Italian and Slovenian language course using game-based methodologies to stimulate learning, a mini dictionary of common dialect terms, and a promotional campaign with visual materials to promote bilingualism.
The goal was to increase interest in learning minority languages and improve the perception of language use in the cross-border territory.
