New features are coming to the go2025.eu platform, enhancing both its tourism offer—with a dedicated section for itineraries and experiences across the wider Borderless Area—and its support for local communities, through an information hub for the three local universities and a networking space designed to facilitate connections in the field of European project development. Created as part of the Borderless Wireless project, conceived and promoted by the EGTC GO – the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation bringing together the municipalities of Nova Gorica, Gorizia and Šempeter-Vrtojba – the platform continues its journey beyond the European Capital of Culture year, further consolidating its role as the digital infrastructure of the Borderless Area.

In 2026, during a period naturally different from the peak visibility generated by GO! 2025, the platform continues to record steady and significant engagement, with an average of around 120,000 users per month. This is a remarkable figure for a territory of approximately 70,000 inhabitants, confirming that the platform has evolved well beyond its original function as an information channel.

Originally created to introduce visitors to the cross-border dimension of GO! 2025, the platform is now entering a new phase of development. Among the upcoming enhancements, a new section dedicated to itineraries and experiences will be launched by the end of the year. Developed in collaboration with tourism and cultural stakeholders across the region—the First Level Stakeholders, with additional partners to join—it will bring together and make easily accessible information on tourism and cultural itineraries and experiences available throughout the Borderless Area, strengthening the platform's role as a tool for territorial development through tourism and culture.

In this way, go2025.eu supports the creation of a lasting tourism destination, encapsulated in the motto "from event to destination": transforming the one-off milestone of the European Capital of Culture 2025 into a permanent destination that integrates a cultural events calendar, tourism content—including more than 30 live webcams from locations across the cross-border area—experiences, services and local information into a single cross-border digital ecosystem.

The platform's development extends beyond tourism promotion. Having been created through a participatory design process involving local stakeholders, it is also intended to become a permanent network supporting the creation of new European projects. The Borderless Network section will foster cooperation among institutions, cultural organisations, tourism operators, universities and local stakeholders, encouraging new joint initiatives for the benefit of the entire area. This represents a natural extension of EGTC GO's cross-border mission and responds to the need to preserve and strengthen the operational legacy of GO! 2025 over the long term.

A further area of development will be Borderless Campus, a new section connecting the three partner universities—Trieste, Udine and Nova Gorica—which have already signed a cooperation agreement with EGTC GO. The initiative will create a shared information space for students and academic communities, providing a single access point for university information while strengthening the links between education, the territory and cross-border cooperation.

The long-term continuity of go2025.eu also depends on the active participation of the local community. The online forms for submitting events, sharing activities and requesting permission to use the GO! 2025 logo remain available in the "Join us" section of go2025.eu. The invitation to use these forms—which are entirely free of charge—is open to public bodies, businesses, associations and cultural organisations wishing to promote their initiatives through the shared calendar and digital tools, above all the web app, serving the wider cross-border area, always in a trilingual format.

Interest in Borderless Wireless has now expanded to the European level. The project, led by Project Manager Giulio Selvazzo, and its ongoing development have already been the subject of study by the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (Germany) and the Master's Programme in Sustainable Tourism Management. It will also be presented at events focusing on tourism, cooperation and regional development, including the Summer School in Bovec in July and an event organised by the Fondazione Italia Bellezza in Genoa in October, with a particular focus on cross-border cooperation.

Borderless Wireless is therefore establishing itself not as a project that ended with the European Capital of Culture, but as a permanent platform for regional development. Its purpose is to bring together information, increase the visibility of the territory, facilitate cooperation and support coordinated cross-border promotion. Its strategic value lies precisely in its ability to transform the legacy of GO! 2025 into a lasting and practical resource.

Part of the Borderless Wireless project, the go2025.eu platform is promoted by EGTC GO in cooperation with the following First Level Stakeholders: PromoTurismo FVG; Javni zavod za turizem Nova Gorica in Vipavska dolina; Fondazione Carigo; Confcommercio Gorizia; Fundacija Poti miru v Posočju; Javni Zavod Miren Kras; Območna Razvojna Agencija Krasa in Brkinov; Zavod za turizem, kulturo, mladino in šport Brda; Zavod za turizem Idrija; Fondazione Aquileia; Soča Valley Tourist Board; Venezia Giulia Chamber of Commerce (Trieste–Gorizia); the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Directorate for Culture and Sport; the Regional Directorate for Labour, Training, Education and Family; DMO Turismo Benečija; Goriški muzej Kromberk / Nova Gorica; Fondazione Palazzo Coronini Cronberg; and Grado Impianti Turistici.
