A delegation from the EGTC Terre di Accoglienza e Libertà, established by the Province of Rimini and the Republic of San Marino, visited EGTC GO on 2 October for an exchange of experiences and best practices regarding the functioning and role of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation.

The visit, which took place at the EGTC GO headquarters, opened with welcoming remarks by Director Romina Kocina, followed by a presentation on the origins, objectives and development of EGTC GO, with a focus on the organisation’s contribution to the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025. During the meeting, which was also attended by European Programming Officer Ezio Benedetti and Giulio Selvazzo, Project Manager of the go2025.eu platform, the delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the main activities and projects being developed across the cross-border area.

The day concluded with a visit to several symbolic sites of cross-border integration and EGTC GO’s work, including Transalpina/Europe Square, the Solkan pedestrian and cycling bridge over the Soča/Isonzo River, built as part of the Isonzo-Soča project, as well as the cycling routes connecting the two cities, all tangible examples of successful cross-border cooperation.
