Nature workshop for children and families “Ponds – an important but threatened habitat” (Project GOmini)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A nature workshop for families with children aged 6 to 10, organised as part of the GOmini project. During the workshop, participants will explore life in and around the pond, learning why small bodies of standing water are important for biodiversity. They will also use digital microscopes to observe tiny organisms and hidden details of the aquatic world up close.

Participation is free, but spaces are limited. Advance registration is required and can be completed through online form. The workshop will be conducted in Slovenian and Italian. We recommend wearing appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, preferably boots.

The workshop is organized in collaboration with the France Bevk Public Library Nova Gorica.

Panovec Forest, Nova Gorica

Nature workshop for children and families “Forest – where the familiar meets the foreign” (Project GOmini)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A nature workshop for families with children aged 6 to 10, organised as part of the GOmini project. During the workshop, participants will explore forest life and learn why forests are important habitats for a variety of plants, animals and other organisms. There will be a particular focus on distinguishing between native and non-native species, and on observing the impact of invasive species on the forest ecosystem.


Participation is free, but spaces are limited. Advance registration is required and can be completed throught online form. The workshop will be conducted in Slovenian and Italian. We recommend wearing appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, preferably boots.

Workshop with artist Hermes Mangialardo (Progetto Light the future)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A workshop with the artist Hermes Mangialardo, aimed at young people aged 30 and under from Italy and Slovenia, during which they will work alongside international artists to experiment with light art and multimedia techniques on the theme of borders and explore the future of the cross-border region.  H.E.M. is a comic artist, visual light artist, creator of 3D video mapping and a visual design teacher. His short films and music videos have received over 100 awards at national and international festivals. Since 2013, he has been working as a light artist and 3D mapper, creating architectural projections across Europe and numerous light and museum installations.

Training event for university students from Italy and Slovenia “JobSTART – The day after graduation” (Project  JobSTART)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: From 19 to 21 May 2026, between Nova Gorica and Gorizia, the three-day JobSTART programme will take place, aimed at 120 young people from Slovenia and Italy who are preparing to enter the labour market and seeking their first job. The programme provides participants with practical knowledge, direct contact with employers, and the development of key skills that are often not sufficiently acquired within formal education.

Community event in the circus tent on Mačji hrib (Project PS CIRKUS)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The community circus event includes setting up and taking down the big top, circus workshops (guided and open), and evening performances and/or concerts. The programme is enhanced by craft and art workshops led by local artists, a community evening featuring an open stage with performances by children, young people and adults, as well as local groups, and a market selling local produce and crafts. The programme is also developed through the initiative of local groups and individuals.

Workshop with artist Claudia Reh (Progetto Light the future)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A workshop with the artist Claudia Reh, aimed at young people aged 30 and under from Italy and Slovenia, during which they will, alongside international artists, experiment with light art and multimedia techniques on the theme of borders and explore the future of the cross-border area.
Claudia Reh has been an independent artist since the late 1990s. Her work, which is distinctly interdisciplinary and always faithful to the principle of analogue, addresses a wide range of themes. She creates installations, animated films and performances, runs workshops and also works as an organiser and producer. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and festivals across Europe.

Valletta del Corno gym, Piazza Vittoria, Gorizia 

Cross-border neighbourhood games between the municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba “GO! Games” (Project GO! PLAY)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The event maintains a strong connection with culture, particularly through the treasure hunt, while also introducing new elements in the spirit of the GO! 2025 project to make it even more engaging and appealing. This year's main venue is the Valletta del Corno sports hall and the adjacent park. Around a hundred children aged 10–11 will take part in the morning, competing in the GO! Games School competition, organised in collaboration with schools on both sides of the border. The event is organised by LUCINIS as part of the GO! PLAY project, of which KŠTM Šempeter-Vrtojba is also a partner, in collaboration with the Municipality of Gorizia, the EGTC GO, and the municipalities of Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba.

50 Italian children and 50 Slovenian children aged between 10 and 11 (5th grade) will participate.
