28.05.2026
Gorizia – Nova Gorica
est

Between antiquity and modernity, the international festival èStoria in Gorizia, from May 28 to 31, presents 300 events dedicated to the complex theme of religions. As usual, the theme will be explored by intertwining history with literature, cinema, music, art, anthropology, psychology, philosophy, economics, and other disciplines. Each year, èStoria awards the “èStoria Prize,” recognizing commitment to the dissemination of historical knowledge by academics, writers, artists, journalists, witnesses, and scholars who are particularly skilled and appreciated by the public. Previous recipients include Alberto Angela, Alessandro Barbero, Carlo Ginzburg, Sergio Romano, Emilio Gentile, Benedetta Craveri, Federico Rampini, and Aldo Cazzullo. This year, the èStoria Prize goes to Laura Pepe.

EGTC GO is once again collaborating this year with two events.

“Influencers, Prophets, Icons. Charismatic Authority and Consensus from the Sacred to the Web” is the title of the first event, which will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the main lecture hall of the Santa Chiara University Campus. Max Andreetta, professional journalist and correspondent for Le Iene, and Filippo Caccamo, comedian and content creator with two and a half million followers on social media, will take part in the discussion. From traditional religious charisma to contemporary reference figures— influencers, creators, and cultural leaders—this will be a historical discussion on how symbolic authority is built and why societies have always needed figures to follow.

In addition, on Friday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. at Palazzo De Grazia, the volume containing the winning investigations of the Border Stories Journalism Prize will be presented. The event concludes the Storie di Confine / Border Stories project, created by the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation in collaboration with the Regional Department for Culture and Sport of Friuli Venezia Giulia and EGTC GO. Massimiliano Tarantino (Director of the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation), Widad Tamimi (journalist and writer), and Marzio G. Mian (investigative journalist and writer) will explore the border as a civil and political laboratory, a living territory where the contradictions of the contemporary world and the promises of transformation are laid bare. Journalists who won the prize of the same name will also take part. The event will conclude the Storie di Confine / Border Stories project, developed by the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation in collaboration with the Regional Department for Culture and Sport of Friuli Venezia Giulia and EGTC GO.
