Following a series of workshops and participatory activities held during the European Capital of Culture year, the group of cross-border artists will present the guidelines that emerged from their shared work, gathered by the GECT GO facilitators in collaboration with Javni zavod GO! 2025, assisted by researcher Paolo Ermano (University of Udine), offering a firsthand look at the needs, visions, and proposals that characterise those who produce cross-border art.
Among confirmed speakers are Fabrizio Spadotto, Director of the Cultural Activities Service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, and Mateja Lazar, Director of Motovila – Creative Europe Desk Slovenia.
This event represents a concrete opportunity to:
- hear the voices of artists, active protagonists of the local area
- discuss the role of culture in the context of the legacy of GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture
- engage in dialogue on future policies and actions capable of strengthening sustainability and the quality of professional life in the cultural sector
- imagine new connections together among local communities, institutions, and European networks
The guidelines being presented are the result of a participatory process led by experts and developed from the direct experience of artists. They will be submitted to policymakers and key stakeholders in the region.
In an area characterized by a strong cross-border dimension, the presence and contribution of artists are fundamental. For this reason, it is essential to open a space for listening and dialogue with those who are called upon to shape public policies, as well as with the wider public.
The event is open to everyone; in particular, the following are especially welcome:
- policymakers at regional, cross-border, and local levels (mayors; councillors/assessors)
- cultural sector officials
- representatives of organizations working closely with artists in the visual arts sector (for example: curators, museum directors)
- teachers and tutors from academies
- citizens who wish to better understand which tools and policies should be pursued in order to enhance the work and lives of artists working in the local area.
The event is open to the public; booking is recommended at the following link.
