Ljubkina pot
The "Ljubkina pot" (Ljubka's Trail) project promotes sustainable tourism by enhancing the literature of marginalized women writers. With an innovative approach integrating culture, "non-invasive" tourism, and technology, the trail offers an accessible cultural route, specialized guides, and licenses for cross-border guided tours. Involving teachers, youth, the elderly, and the Slovenian minority, the project promotes equality and awareness of women writers. The use of technology also makes the route accessible to people with disabilities, while the goal is to strengthen capacity in tourism, education and artistic creativity, focusing on women. Cross-border cooperation is essential to the success of the project.
The main objective of the project was to strengthen the role of culture in the development of sustainable cultural tourism in the region and to raise awareness of the literary heritage of women writers from the Gorizia area. By highlighting often-overlooked women’s literature and history, the project contributed to greater social inclusion and the empowerment of various groups-particularly women, young people, and the elderly-while also strengthening cross-border cooperation.
As part of the project, a thematic trail was created for walking, hiking and cycling, featuring marked points of interest, interpretive content, and digital resources. Training courses were conducted, and licenses were issued for tour guides, along with educational activities for teachers. Promotional and educational materials were prepared, along with a trilingual anthology of female writers from the Gorizia area, and cultural and educational activities were organized for the general public and young people.
The project also contributed to linking the region to the Council of Europe’s Cultural Routes network, facilitating the exchange of best practices, and promoting the region and its cultural and tourist offerings internationally.
