GO Walking
St. Martin's cross-border circuit
The main objectives of the project are the establishment of the first cross-border circular cultural route between Vipava and Aquileia, as part of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe network. The project also aims to develop a sustainable tourism product that connects cultural and natural heritage while promoting hiking and responsible outdoor tourism. In addition, it seeks to improve the management of hiking trails through the preparation of a strategic document, the development of an action plan, and the implementation of concrete management solutions designed to ensure effective, high-quality, and long-term trail management.
A scenic 240 km long cross-border circular hiking route has been established, suitable for different age groups. The route is part of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe network and connects key cultural and natural sites of the area.
