Moving Community
The project addresses the issue of sustainable, social and environmental mobility and aims to encourage the residents of Nova Gorica and Gorizia to use bicycles instead of other environmentally polluting means of transport. Students of the Art Gymnasium Nova Gorica, the Art Gymnasium Maksa Fabiani, and selected international artists created mural and street artworks inspired by the central theme of the project. The artworks were also used to decorate GO2GO bike-sharing bicycles and other cycling equipment, creating a visual communication campaign promoting green mobility.
The main event, ARTCYCLE POP UP, took place on a cross-border road that was closed to traffic (Erjavčeva Street and Via San Gabriele) and was transformed for a few hours into a “paradise of sustainable mobility.” Street entertainment, a light installation, and concerts by project promoters and musicians Trkaj and Out-Lot offered participants an engaging, educational, and inclusive experience.
The project is funded by the European Union through the Small Projects Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy–Slovenia Programme 2021–2027, managed by EGTC GO.
