Time for Train: Cross-border journeys by train and bus
Time for Train is a cross-border project promoting sustainable tourism and the discovery of Slovenia and Italy by train and public transport. The project was implemented by Turizem Bohinj as the lead partner and Venetian Cluster as the project partner, with the involvement of important local stakeholders in the preparation of content and the connection of destinations, including the Public Institute for Tourism of Nova Gorica and the Vipava Valley.
The project connects Bohinj, Nova Gorica, the Vipava Valley, Gorizia, Trieste, and Venice, developing cross-border cultural, gastronomic, and tourism experiences along the railway lines. It invites visitors to discover the area in a slow and sustainable way, turning the journey itself into part of the experience. As part of the project, self-guided thematic itineraries, a joint promotional campaign, and a long-term cooperation model between stakeholders in tourism, culture, and mobility were developed.
