BRIDGE
Tourism and culture in harmony with the environment
The two project partners, ZTKMŠ Brda and ECOPARK, collaborated to promote culture, art and well-being and to develop sustainable tourism in the GO!2025 programme area. The BRIDGE project addresses common challenges through cooperation, guide training, the organisation of cross-border events and investments in green infrastructure.
The objective of fully developing sustainable tourism is pursued through the organisation of several cross-border events, during which artists created permanent artistic sculptures installed in the green area of Staranzano and in the Krčnik thematic park (SLO). The project promotes the connection between people, nature and well-being through a thematic geomantic trail and sustainable artworks created during artistic residencies. The innovative approach is based on integrating and connecting two sites belonging to the NATURA 2000 network and on establishing a permanent partnership for the management of natural heritage. Beneficiaries include residents and visitors to the area, with the aim of generating multiplier effects in terms of promotion through cooperation between the partners.
The green infrastructure created (the Krčnik thematic trail with energy points) is a permanent public asset and continues to be accessible to visitors and the local population. Likewise, the artistic elements (e.g. Land Art installations), integrated into the natural environment, are permanently preserved, enriching the area's tourism and cultural offering.
The results of the BRIDGE project are preserved in the long term through a combination of permanent infrastructure, knowledge and partnership, and are widely accessible to the public as part of the sustainable cultural and tourism offering of the cross-border area.
