Representatives from EGTC TATRY, at the Polish-Slovakian border, have visited EGTC GO
On 15 May 2026, EGTC GO hosted a delegation from EGTC TATRY, engaged in a study visit dedicated to the exchange of experiences and best practices in European territorial cooperation.
EGTC TATRY operates in the cross-border area between Poland and Slovakia, particularly in the Carpathian region (Tatra Mountains area), characterised by a strong natural, cultural and tourism-related connection between the two countries.
The large delegation, composed of institutional representatives and technical staff, was led by President Štefan Bieľak, Director Michał Stawarski and the Head of the Small Projects Fund Miloš Handák, accompanied by mayors, regional officials and members of the EGTC staff.
The group was welcomed in the Council Hall of Palazzo Tre Portoni, EGTC GO headquarters, by President Paolo Petiziol. Following an introductory moment and a presentation of activities by the EGTC GO team, the meeting continued with a session dedicated to EGTC TATRY, followed by an open discussion and exchange of questions and answers on their respective experiences.
In the afternoon, the delegation took part in a visit to the area, with significant stops in the cross-border territory. The programme included symbolic places of cross-border cooperation and important EGTC GO projects, including Piazza Transalpina/Trg Evrope and the Solkan cyclebridge.
The visit represented an important opportunity for exchange between two European entities active in the management of cross-border projects, highlighting numerous similarities both in the activities carried out and in the challenges faced, including the management of the Small Projects Fund.
