There is still time until September 30th to submit a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation for the Ponti d'Europa (Bridges of Europe) Award, established by the Europeanist Academy of Friuli Venezia Giulia in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The award aims to promote knowledge of European identity, the founding values of the European Union, its institutions, and the process of European integration.

The Award seeks to highlight the role of Friuli Venezia Giulia as a border region, a place of dialogue between cultures, and a privileged laboratory for cooperation within the European space. In this perspective, it recognizes research, works, institutions, and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the construction of a Europe united in diversity, based on knowledge, coexistence, cooperation among peoples, and the enhancement of border areas.

The BRIDGES OF EUROPE Award is divided into two main categories: the University category, dedicated to master's theses and doctoral dissertations focusing on European issues, and the Personalities, Institutions, Works and Books category, intended to recognize individuals, organizations, publications, or artistic works that have distinguished themselves in promoting European values, European integration, cross-border cooperation, and dialogue among peoples. Through the BRIDGES OF EUROPE Award, the Europeanist Academy seeks to strengthen European awareness within the regional community by promoting merit, research, civic and cultural engagement, and a deeper culture of European integration.

The call for applications, with a deadline of 30 September 2026, concerns Category I – University, reserved exclusively for those who have obtained a master's degree or a doctoral degree at universities based in Friuli Venezia Giulia, as well as residents of Friuli Venezia Giulia who have obtained the same qualifications from other Italian or foreign universities.

Main requirements:

• Master's degree grade of at least 100/110;
• Degree obtained between September 30th, 2024 and September 30th, 2026.

Prizes:

• €2,000 for the best master's thesis;
• €3,000 for the best doctoral dissertation.

For Category II – Personalities, Institutions, Works and Books, self-nominations are not allowed.
