Transforming an everyday journey into an opportunity to encounter art, culture, and the cross-border region: this is the aim of ArtBus, a project promoted by the EGTC GO and implemented in collaboration with APT Gorizia. The initiative was presented yesterday at the headquarters of Gorizia’s public transport company in the presence of representatives of both organizations and the Mayor of Gorizia.

Starting from yesterday, a series of video productions dedicated to some of the most significant artistic and cultural experiences developed within the framework of GO! 2025 European Capital of Culture is being screened on the monitors installed across the entire urban bus fleet, including the cross-border service linking Gorizia and Nova Gorica. The initiative brings art beyond spaces traditionally dedicated to culture, making it accessible during daily commutes and reaching a broad and diverse audience.

The idea was developed from proposals that emerged during the youth participation process of GO! 2025 and the European project FLYE, and was enthusiastically embraced by APT Gorizia as it aligns with the company’s activities marking its fiftieth anniversary.

ArtBus is a tangible outcome of a process of empowerment and active participation by younger generations carried out within the framework of the Erasmus+ FLYE project. Through training activities, discussion opportunities, and participatory budgeting tools, young people from the cross-border area were able to transform their ideas into real projects capable of generating a positive impact on the community. Among the proposals selected, ArtBus has now become a reality, bringing creativity, culture, and fresh perspectives directly into everyday spaces.

During the press conference, the five videos that will accompany passengers on board the buses were presented, followed by a short demonstration ride.

Completing the selection is GO! 2025 – A Year Without Borders, a video produced by EGTC GO that revisits some of the most significant moments of the European Capital of Culture, from the opening events to the major initiatives that animated the cross-border area throughout 2025.

Through ArtBus, the partners aim to leave one of the most tangible legacies of the GO! 2025 journey: a culture that is widespread, accessible, and capable of meeting people where everyday life unfolds.
