On Monday, September 5, 2022, the municipality of Nova Gorica hosted dr. Aleksander Jevšek, minister responsible for development and European cohesion policy. The central theme of the working visit was joint integrated territorial investment (ITI) of cross-border urban development.The main topic of the visit included a conversation about how to ensure the conditions and accept an agreement on the possibility of carrying out key joint cross-border investments from urban development funds between the Municipality of Novo Gorica and the Municipality of Gorica (I) in support of the European Capital of Culture and the regeneration of the unused area along the border, as the wish of all the participants is to revive this area and give it a completely new role in the common urban area. 

The meeting with the minister was attended by representatives of the municipality of Nova Gorica, the Municipality of Gorizia, the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, the institute GO!2025 and the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation EGTC GO.EGTC GO was represented by president Paolo Petiziol, director Romina Kocina and assistant director Tomaž Konrad. 

The visit finished with a tour of the joint cross-border area from the Kostanjevica hill in Nova Gorica.
