Success for the event at Turin's bookfair, Salone, organised by EGTC GO

A European Capital of Culture that stimulates reflection around the scenarios of our time and invites us to reflect on the novelties that influence the way we live today, and will certainly revolutionise our lifestyles also in the time to come: yesterday evening at the 37th International Book Fair in Turin, the EGTC GO proposed a panel closely linked to current events, starting from its ‘borderless’ vision and characteristic. If man stops thinking. Frontiers #borderless, AI and the US-China rivalry was the red thread of the conversation that featured a well-known face familiar to the general public, journalist Claudio Pagliara, winner of the Saint Vincent Prize and head of RAI's correspondence office in the United States - recently appointed Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in New York - and essayist Alessandro Aresu, who entered the first Cinquina candidated for the Premio Strega Saggistica 2025 with the book Geopolitica dell'Intelligenza artificiale (Feltrinelli). Together, in the talk hosted by journalist Anna Longo, they analysed the scenarios linked to an innovation that is by definition ‘borderless’, artificial intelligence, a decisive element in the evolution of the international geopolitical chessboard.
The event, promoted by EGTC GO and GO! 2025, was particularly well attended at the Friuli Venezia Giulia stand at Lingotto: it was introduced by the deputy governor of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region Mario Anzil, together with the mayor of Gorizia Rodolfo Ziberna. The EGTC GO director Romina Kocina was also in the audience, who spoke at the end of the conversation to recall the European Capital of Culture's commitment to promoting opportunities for reflection on our time and around the theme of borders, and overcoming them. Indeed, through the European Capital of Culture shared between Slovenia and Italy, a broad reflection was opened on the evolution of ‘borderless’ areas, where populations come closer together, in the spirit of the European Union and the Maastricht Treaty. Definitely ‘borderless’ is the technological innovation of our time, destined to profoundly change everyday life and world scenarios: starting with the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence, a topic at the centre of the complex relations between the USA and China, with global implications on the world's balance.
