The third stage of the Tour of Slovenia will be borderless
The 30th anniversary edition of the Tour of Slovenia is coming to Nova Gorica this year and is even crossing the state border. Cyclists will be welcomed at the finish line on Kidričeva Street on Friday, 14 June, at 3pm. The cyclists will set off from Ljubljana for the 3rd stage, crossing the Vipava Valley, Goriška brda and the national border in the spirit of the common cross-border area and the European Capital of Culture 2025 - GO! Borderless.
In Nova Gorica local communities, in cooperation with many clubs, associations, institutions and individuals, are already preparing intensively to welcome the cyclists and spectators. On this day, many interesting activities will take place along the route. Special highlights will be given to points of interest in the municipalities of Nova Gorica and Brda, which will be filmed from the air and broadcast on TV. The race is an exceptional promotional opportunity for the Goriška region. For example, the expected reach of the race via the Eurosport 1 and 2 TV broadcast is 60 million viewers in Europe and an additional 30 million viewers elsewhere in the world.
Stage 3 was presented by the Municipality of Nova Gorica together with the main organiser of the race, the Adria Mobil Cycling Club, at yesterday's press conference. Speakers included Mayor of Nova Gorica Samo Turel, Mayor of Gorizia Rodolfo Ziberna, Organising Director of the Tour of Slovenia Bogdan Fink, the Director of the Brda Institute for Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport Tina Novak Samec, Erika Lojk, Director of the Public Institute for Tourism Nova Gorica and Vipava Valley, Rok Lozej, Vice President of the Cycling Federation of Slovenia and President of the mebloJOGI Pro-Concrete Cycling Club, and Mihael Štajnar, cyclist of the Ljubljana Gusto Santic Cycling Club.
The municipalities of Nova Gorica and Brda will promote on the Tour of Slovenia channels, among other things, a competition to find the most interesting anecdote that has ever happened on a bicycle. In addition to the €500 electric scooter, the two municipalities will also give away bike rentals and tourist experiences in both regions. More information is available at the following link.
