European Parliament presents the ECOC of Nova Gorica and Gorizia as an example of European values
On Tuesday, May 13th, an event was held at the European Parliament in Brussels to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the European Capital of Culture programme. This year's two Capitals of Culture, Nova Gorica in cooperation with Gorizia and Chemnitz, were presented in a special way.
The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, emphasised in her speech that our task is to build a united Europe. Nova Gorica and Gorizia, she said, are an example and a guide for areas that today live in tension. They are a message that it is possible to overcome differences and create a common future.
Also present was the EGTC GO, in the person of its director Romina Kocina, which is the key instrument for the joint management and execution of cross-border projects and joint activities in the Capital Year.
