EGTC GO at the Order of Architects of Brescia: GO! 2025 as an example of cross-border urban regeneration

The European Capital of Culture GO! 2025 was the topic of an event which was held on Thursday, April 3rd, at the headquarters of the Order of Architects, Planners, Landscape Architects and Conservationists of the Province of Brescia, where two representatives of the GECT GO participated as speakers.
The coordinator of European projects, Ezio Benedetti, and the project manager of GO! 2025, Marco Marinuzzi, explained the nature and the functioning of the EGTC GO, with a focus on the organization of GO! 2025, sharing some considerations regarding the project legacy and its future from 2026 onward.
The two speakers illustrated how the border area, historically rich in cultural interactions, has always experienced a duality: the urban intervention to unite the two territories aims to overcome the divisions as a true example of shared planning, creating public spaces that promote meeting and sharing between the communities, improving the quality of life of residents and visitors, and promoting sustainable and aware tourism. The decision to unite two territories through architecture and town planning is a powerful message: culture knows no boundaries, acting as a universal language that can unite people, fostering mutual understanding and respect for differences.
The meeting was moderated by arch. Ombretta Ferrari, Representative of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, Free Market, International Calls and Assistance for Working Abroad of the OAPPC of the Province of Brescia.
