From October 23 to 25, 2025, Gorizia and Nova Gorica—united under the vision of GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture—will become a living laboratory of dialogue, coexistence, and participatory planning with the Forum “Cityofpeace, Cityoffuture – Demopractic Work GO! 2025”, promoted by the Pistoletto Cittadellarte Foundation, in collaboration with Netural Coop Social Enterprise and the Municipality of Gorizia.

For three days, over 60 organizations from Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Šempeter-Vrtojba will take part in a large co-design workshop where peace becomes a collective practice, thanks to the method of the Demopractic Work: a process that brings together citizens, institutions, businesses, and activists to collectively build the City of the Future, starting from the principles of Preventive Peace, the UN 2030 Agenda, and the Third Paradise.

To open the Forum, Romina Kocina, director of the EGTC GO, will also speak.
The Forum is structured as a Demopractic Work, a collective process developed in four phases: Mapping, Forum, Construction Sites, and Return, with the aim of translating the principles of preventive peace into concrete actions. Starting from the identification of the local context and active forces, the process aims to generate shared, verifiable projects that will be developed and monitored over the course of a year.

Each participant—representing a local organization—will take part in one of the thematic working groups, where they will address key issues such as urban planning, culture, environment, education, economy, geopolitics, sports, demography, reducing bureaucracy, and interconnections among communities.

The Demopractic Work Forum GO! 2025 represents a unique opportunity to strengthen the role of cities as drivers of change, through the synergy of culture, civil society, businesses, and institutions.
