There's time until February 9th to apply for the journalism prize Border stories
Borders are not lines: they are living spaces.
They are places where political tensions and collective memories converge, but also where practices of coexistence, cooperation, and social transformation take shape. Telling their stories means questioning one of the most complex and decisive mechanisms of contemporary Europe.
From this awareness comes Border stories - Storie di Confine, a journalism prize promoted by the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and with the support of Are We Europe.
The Prize is part of a broader project of research, public reflection, and cultural production dedicated to border territories as political, cultural, and economic laboratories.
The initiative recognizes four reportages capable of interpreting the border as a space of transformation, combining narrative quality, methodological rigor, and a critical reading of reality, reaffirming the role of journalism as a democratic safeguard and a tool for civic participation.
The award ceremony for the winning works will take place in Gorizia at the end of May.
Applications are open until February 9, 2026. All information is available at this link.
