Transnational congress of the Trans-Borders+ project: the Cross-border Public Transport System in the European Capital of Culture Go!2025

On Wednesday, April 16th, as part of the activities of the European Capital of Culture 2025, the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia hosted in Gorizia the transnational congress of Trans-Borders+ project, financed by the Interreg Central Europe Program, titled "Cross-border Public Transport System in the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025.

The main goal of the congress was to promote the contribution that the Trans-Borders+ project offers to the creation of a cross-border public transport system, able to promote dialogue and cooperation between different entities, as well as promoting the enhancement of cross-border public services. 

The EGTC GO was invited to present all the initiatives promoted on the topic of sustainable mobility, specifically the pilot project Borderlabs CE, which aims to create a cross-border development model for sustainable tourism between Italy and Slovenia, based on cycling tourism. 

The congress opened with greetings from Regional Councillor Cristina Amirante, the Mayor of Gorizia Rodolfo Ziberna, and the Deputy Mayor of Nova Gorica Tomaž Horvat, and concluded with a roundtable discussion involving representatives from the Ministry for the Environment, Climate and Energy of the Region Friuli Venezia Giulia, and public transport operators such as Nomago, Trenitalia, TPL FVG, and Slovenske Železnice.
