Artistic call for the decoration of a restored vertical piano, which will be available for musicians and passersby who can play the piano, both inside and in front of Xcenter in Nova Gorica.

We warmly invite artists active in the field of painting to participate in the Xcenter project as part of GO! 2025 European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica - Gorizia.

The topic of the decoration is the absence of limits, and the painting technique can be acrylic, oil, or any other painting technique that can withstand long-term use.

Participation requirements:
Artists residing in the area of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica - Gorizia are eligible to participate, specifically in the municipalities of:

Nova Gorica, Šempeter-Vrtojba, Brda, Kanal, Tolmin, Bovec, Renče-Vogrsko, Miren-Kostanjevica, Komen, Ajdovščina, Vipava, Idrija, Cerkno nonché Aiello del Friuli, Aquileia, Capriva del Friuli, Cividale del Friuli, Cormòns, Doberdò del Lago, Dolegna del Collio, Farra d’Isonzo, Fogliano Redipuglia, Gradisca d’Isonzo, Grado, Mariano del Friuli, Medea, Monfalcone, Moraro, Mossa, Romans d’Isonzo, Ronchi dei Legionari, Sagrado, San Canzian d’Isonzo, San Floriano del Collio, San Lorenzo Isontino, San Pier d’Isonzo, Savogna d’Isonzo, Staranzano, Turriaco, Villesse.

Gross fee (including the cost of artistic materials): €750

Documents required for the application:

• Brief CV (1 page A4)
• 5 examples of the artist's artworks
• Description of the decoration proposal (max. 300 words)

Deadline for submission: April, 6th 2025.

The selection of the artist, who will decorate the upright piano on the premises of Xcenter, Delpinova 20 - 5000 Nova Gorica, will be made by a commission in April or May 2025.
