WATERSCAPES
Promoting cross-border water heritage via eco-museums
The project involves the development of sustainable cultural tourism based on the concept of an ecomuseum, connecting Eastern Venice (VeGAL) and the Gorizia region (RRA Nova Gorica). An ecomuseum connects the local community, historical water management practices, the landscape and intangible heritage. This enables the sustainable enhancement of the rich water and landscape heritage of the two areas. The project aims to establish cross-border, participatory ecomuseum management, develop a strategic communication plan, and promote local heritage through public events, workshops and interpretive trails. The project will also integrate art and culture to ensure the long-term sustainability and visibility of the ecomuseum. The project will also enhance infrastructure of public interest, such as the Doblar Museum.
