Project budget: 624.318,25 EUR
Project goals:
The FLIP projects acknowledges that young people struggle to find a space within political contexts, where they often feel constrained and not enabled to express their own opinions and points of view. Aligning with the objectives of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, the project values personal empowerment and active participation as the key for social change. The FLIP project aims to equip young people with the proper tools to have a positive impact on their local communities, for instance improving financial literacy. Alongside management and financial competences, the young participants will assimilate concrete skills, for instance methodologies for participative budgeting. Ultimately, the project will mark a connection between the youth and public bodies, while encouraging democratic and civic participation among young people.
Forecasted activities:
- Survey on the impact of financial education and its contribution to the participation of young people in democratic life
- Study visits in Portugal to carry out an in-depth examination of the Youth Participatory Budgeting initiatives
- Mixed lessons – both online and on-site - for young participants selected by the partners
- Mobility to Gorizia and Cyprus
- Participants will be involved in the simulation of an assembly to delve into the complexity of democratic processes
- Arrangement of group works for the development of project proposals addressed to local communities; implementation of the winning project
- A dedicated digital space where young people can store documents as well as work on the co-creation of initiatives
- FLIP e-platform offering a comprehensive online learning environment for youth
- Final conference in Luxembourg addressed to young leaders
Expected outcomes:
Dissemination of skills in financial literacy, management, and communication to corroborate political and civic engagement of young people. The organisation of local events as well as the creation of an e-learning platform will assure the project’s sustainability in the long run, while strengthening democratic participation of young people in Europe.
