Objective: The EGTC-NET project aims to create the first sustainable network among five EGTCs based in the Interreg Italy-Austria Programme territory, with the objective of reducing and eliminating cross-border obstacles and strengthening cooperation in the area.

Project description: EGCT-NET pursues the objective of eliminating cross-border obstacles of various kinds that limit the functioning of EGTCs; to this end, each EGTC will work on identifying them and on possible solutions. Study visits at the EGTCs' premises are also planned, involving students, researchers and stakeholders, to foster the exchange of experiences and best practices in the resolution of cross-border obstacles. Among other things, a joint document on the new Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on facilitating cross-border solutions on the functioning and evolution of EGTCs (Bridge4EU regulation) will be drafted. Finally, a permanent working table will be set up to enable the sustainability of the project and the strengthening of cooperation in the Programme area.
Project activities:
- Daily management of the actual and financial coordination of the project, coordination meetings and physical as well as financial reporting activities
- Design and preparation of promotional material (roll-ups, posters, brochures, leaflets, etc.); online promotion using multimedia material (videos, photos, use of social channels, etc.); management of media relations
- Presentation of project results at the European Week of Regions and Cities
- Organisation of the final event of the project
- Detailed analysis of the founding acts of the five partner EGTCs and best practices to map the current situation
- Organisation of online interviews and/or interactive online workshops with the representatives of the EGTCs in the programme area
- Public consultations to identify obstacles to cross-border cooperation and proposal of solutions
- Organisation of public dissemination events
- Evaluation, through specific legal advice, of the impact of the new Regulation for the facilitation of cross-border solutions; elaboration of a joint document and awareness-raising activities among the responsible national authorities
- Study visits at the EGTC sites in the Programme area
- Creation of a ‘Permanent Desk’ as a permanent coordination space between the EGTCs to support continuous exchange and support.
