Skills2 GO! Empowering Nova Gorica – Gorizia for European Capital of Culture 2025
Capacity building activities continue for project development and systematization of information and tools for culturally based territorial development in view of GO! 2025. Networking is the key word for the activation of common strategies for public involvement ahead of the Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture appointment. On Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, a team from the Foundation School of Cultural Heritage and Activities with experts from Bam! -Cultural Strategies of Bologna are in Nova Gorica for the first meeting of the project "Skills2GO!", organized in the spaces of the Xcenter: protagonists are the representatives of EGTC GO and Javni Zavod GO! 2025 with referents of the Municipalities of Gorizia and Nova Gorica and the Central Directorate for Culture of the Region FVG. An appointment made within the framework of the agreement signed with the Foundation for the accompaniment up to the European Capital of Culture.
The issues of public involvement, strategies and tools to encourage cross-border participation in view of the Capital are the focus of this first meeting, a workshop by the "task force" of the Foundation School of Cultural Heritage and Activities whose mission is to promote the professional development of cultural heritage managers and curators and to develop a virtuous system of knowledge with a strongly international-oriented approach: a key moment to continue the discussion on the theme of creation, profiling and involvement of the public to arrive at the construction of a real cross-border community, which will be followed by numerous others over the coming months - both in Nova Gorica and Gorica - between in-person activities and remote meetings involving the main actors and stakeholders of both cities.
This is an important new step in the exchange and co-design activities in the run-up to the European Capital of Culture year. A moment of confrontation with activators of planning, training, communication and marketing that sees Nova Gorica and Gorizia increasingly united in the common identification of strategies and tools to encourage cross-border participation.
