We are at Velo-city 2022 in Ljubljana!
Tomaž Konrad and Giulia Cortesi bring us in Ljubljana from 14 to 17 June for Velo-city 2022, the World Cycling Summit serving as a global platform for knowledge exchange and policy transfer.
The main topic of Velo-city 2022 is “Cycling the change” and deals with different subtopics:
- Rethinking urban space
- Focus on citizens, stakeholders and community
- Policies for more cycling
- Green tourism, green economy
- Urban mobility innovation
- Scientists for cycling
Yesterday, the 15 of June, our deputy director Tomaž Konrad spoke about the first topic: Rethinking urban space. The title of the 15 June conference is European Mobility week: How local authorities promote cycling and behavioural change.
Giulia Cortesi, on the other side, presented within the third topic: Policies for more cycling. Her speech will be about “Cycling promotion by the innovative cross-border governance model of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation GO (EGTCGO)” during the conference on Local strategies for better cycling.
On the final day she’ll be once again on the first topic with her speech titled "Cycling the change in port cities: does cycle tourism change daily mobility?” during the conference “TEN-T: are large infrastructure projects a threat or an opportunity for active mobility?”
As annual flagship event of the European Cyclists’ Federation, Velo-city plays a valuable part in promoting cycling as a sustainable and healthy means of transport for all. Like no other event, the conference offers a knowledge-exchange and policy-transfer platform to the growing number of more than 1400 Velo-citizens from over 60 countries involved in the policy, promotion and provision for cycling, active mobility and sustainable urban development.
The conference exhibition showcases the latest innovations for a better cycling experience in cities and beyond!
