Publication of Skills2Go! Released

19.10.2025
skills2Go!

The volume Skills2Go! has been published — the result of the project Skills2GO! Empowering Nova Gorica–Gorizia for ECoC 2025, an empowerment initiative dedicated to Nova Gorica and Gorizia – European Capital of Culture 2025, promoted by the National School for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Scuola Nazionale Patrimonio Attività Culturali) in collaboration with EGTC GO and GO! 2025.

The publication gathers contributions from experts and lecturers involved in the training programme – among them Luca Dal Pozzolo, Riccardo Tovaglieri, Federico Borreani, Beatriz Garcia, Pier Luigi Sacco, Erminia Sciacchitano, Eleonora Berti, Saša Dobričić, Guido Guerzoni, Annalisa Cicerchia, and Alessandro Bollo.

This initiative marks an important milestone for the School, which, with Skills2Go!, has scaled up to a European dimension: the project applies the model already tested through Cantiere Città – an empowerment programme dedicated to the Italian Capitals of Culture – to a cross-border context, turning cultural cooperation into a laboratory of shared peer learning and “beyond-the-border” project design, embodying a truly borderless vision that is more relevant today than ever.

As Francesca Neri, Head of the Innovation and Complex Projects Department, underlines, the Skills2Go! project has made it possible to test and consolidate a training model that focuses on collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the building of European competences, laying the foundations for a professional community without borders.

The volume brings together many of the cultural planning topics explored throughout the training sessions: the role of cultural networks in local development, stakeholder management in cross-border contexts, audience development strategies, new paradigms of participation, the legacy concept in European Capitals of Culture, and the relationship between culture, landscape, and well-being.

The publication – which also offers models and practices to strengthen skills, partnerships, and long-term sustainability – stands as a valuable resource for study and professional practice for anyone working in the cultural sector.

A valuable tool for professionals engaged in managing complex cultural projects, the volume is now available to all: Skills2GO! Building Competences for Cultural Professionals
