Ready for GO! Games
The first edition of the GO! Games realized within the framework of GO! 2025 is just around the corner! Taking the field on Saturday, June 15, will be 13 teams representing as many districts of the municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba, namely Nova Gorica, Rožna Dolina, Solkan, Šempeter-Vrtojba, Lucinico, San Rocco-Sant'Anna, Piuma-San Mauro-Oslavia, Piedimonte, Madonnina, Sant'Andrea, Centro, Straccis-Montesanto-Piazzutta, Campagnuzza and GECT GO (cross-border team with employees also from GO! 2025).
Each team will have a maximum of 20 members, aged 16 and up.
The games will take place in Baiamonti Park in San Rocco and in case of bad weather in the Horn Valley gymnasium. Competitors will try their hand at treasure hunting, board and trump games, tug-of-war, water games, and skill courses until the grand finale, which will involve all teams at the same time. The treasure hunt includes a 7-kilometer walk or bike ride through the three municipalities, starting from Salcano with stops at the main historical sites in the area and as many questions to solve.
All participants will meet at 2:30 p.m. in Victory Square from where the procession will depart to Baiamonti Park in San Rocco. Opening the event will be the three mayors of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba with the symbolic mowing of the grass.
The treasure hunt will start at 3:45 p.m., and at 4 p.m. the other trials will begin at Baiamonti Park.
At 7:30 p.m. there will be awards for participants, and a convivial moment by the National Alpine Association will follow the event.
