Exhibition hall Auditorium via Roma

A real village, in the heart of the city center, dedicated to cosplay, comics, role-playing games and video games. And the Exhibition Hall of the Auditorium of Gorizia Culture, in Via Roma, transformed into the "temple" of retrogaming, with video games that have made history, from the cabinets of the arcades to the consoles of the eighties and nineties. Ritorna a Gorizia “Let’s Go! Cosplay & Fun" and does so by multiplying its initiatives, "installing" itself in the area between Via Roma and Piazza Vittoria, where the thematic pavilions will be set up throughout the day of Sunday 8 September that will animate one of the symbolic places of the Isonzo capital. The event will have a juicy preview on the afternoon of Saturday 7 September, with a series of meetings that will allow participants to discover the secrets of artificial intelligence and video games.

 

The free event open to all is promoted by the Youth Policy Service of the Municipality of Gorizia, and is funded by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region: the project presented by the Municipality was among the winners of the public notice for the "realization of cultural projects carried out by young people and in favor of young people" L.R. 16/2014. The partners are Gect Go, Forgotten Heroes Association, Aps Fvg Brick Team, La Collina Cooperativa Sociale. "It will be an extra-large edition, a real structured festival that will make Gorizia the national capital of Cosplay for one day - explains the deputy mayor with responsibility for youth policies, Chiara Gatta -. We will have prestigious guests, musical events and moments dedicated to workshops and games, which will also encourage aggregation and meeting between generations".

 

SATURDAY'S PREVIEW IN SALA DORA BASSI

It starts on Saturday, with a series of meetings and conferences hosted in the spaces of the Sala Dora Bassi, in via Garibaldi 7. At 3 p.m. the conference "The Prison of Nerakar" will start, which will illustrate in detail the results of the Workshop of Creation of an Adventure with Artificial Intelligence, carried out in recent months in the spaces of the Youth Point of Gorizia, curated by Massimiliano Stanta, Luca Mirai and Luca Del Bigallo. It will continue at 4 pm with "The Evolution of the Role-Playing Game - From the cellars of friends, to associations, to the web" by Luca del Bigallo and Luca Mirai.

And again at 5 p.m. the conference "Dungeons & Dragons in pixels - The videogames of the most famous RPG in the world", organized by Retrogaming Cultural Association - 12 Bit with Daniele De Bortoli.

The conferences will end with the speech "The Role-playing and Tabletop Game as an educational and training tool", with speeches by Alan Mattiassi, Michele Cuzzioli and Dr. Francesca Polmonari, psychologist manager of the Giuliano Isontina University Health Authority.

The conferences will be streamed live on the instagram channel of the Punto Giovani di Gorizia and will be moderated by Pierluca Settomini and Dennis Millia.

 

THE COSPLAY VILLAGE IN PIAZZA VITTORIA

There will be four tensile structures that will welcome the curious in Piazza Vittoria starting from 10 a.m. on Sunday 8 September. The pavilions will host a market exhibition area, the interview area, the creativity and games space and an area dedicated to entertainment, which will host the long-awaited Cosplay Competition in the afternoon and the stage on which guests will alternate. Added to this is also the outdoor space where it will be possible to admire the Italian Ecto-1, a replica of the legendary Ghostbusters car, whose presence will be embellished by animation and workshops ("Slime", at 11.30 am, 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm) themed Ghostbusters.

 

The events will open at 10 a.m., with the workshop of Simone Arena, freelance illustrator and colorist, who has important collaborations with comics and theme parks. He also won the cards of the legendary "Sgorbions". At 10.30 a.m. space for the second workshop, that of Francesco Barbieri ("How to complete an illustration)". Illustrator, cartoonist and character designer active for 25 years in the field of publishing and animation, Barbieri collaborates with various Italian and overseas publishers.

For Warner Bros he draws comics distributed in various countries, illustrates books for various Italian publishers under Warner license and creates character designs for animated series. In addition to the classics, Looney Tunes moves characters from the Hanna & Barbera universe and DC comics. He designs for Panini, Disney Italy, Marvel Italy and Mickey Mouse.

He collaborated with Piemme editions on the creation of some books by Geronimo Stilton. He creates character designs for various series of games for Clementoni and Giochi Preziosi. He will also be the protagonist at 11.30 a.m. of a signing and, at 3.30 p.m., of an interview on the main stage of the event.

 

At 2.30 p.m. Misha will take the stage in the entertainment area, who will offer covers of the theme songs of the cartoons that have fascinated three generations and, afterwards, the students of the Movartex dance school will perform, with choreographies inspired by the world of cosplay. More music at 4.30 pm, with the performance of Francesca Lorenzon, one of the most accredited Lady Gaga lookalikes. To conclude the musical moments will then be the Prisma Gems, who will offer a selection of covers of the most popular songs in the East (Jpop, Cpop and Kpop).

 

THE COSPLAY COMPETITION

Among the traditionally most anticipated moments of Let's Go! Cosplay & Fun there is obviously the cosplay competition, scheduled from 4.45 pm on the stage of Piazza Vittoria presided over by Andrea Achino and Loredana Barile. Registration for the competition from 2 to 3.30 pm, before the actual competition, anticipated by the interview with the judges of the contest, Marco Englaro, Giulia Boscolo and Francesca Lorenzon

 

The artistic direction of the race and entertainment will be by BAZINGA EVENTI APS. 

The graphic design was created by Vanessa Pitzalis.

THE EXHIBITION HALL OF THE LEGO TEMPLE AUDITORIUM AND RETROGAMING

The Exhibition Hall of the Auditorium in Via Roma will host role-playing game tournaments on the ground floor, but also  the legendary consoles (from Nintendo to Playstation) and the original arcade cabinets of the eighties, nineties and two thousands, brought to Gorizia thanks to the collaboration with the Coinup Project associations and with the Retrogaming Cultural Association - 12 Bit.  On  the first floor of the Auditorium space for the imagination of the Lego world. The partner Aps Fvg Brick Team will take care of the display of Lego, with an ageless charm for young and old.

 

 

 

THE THEMATIC AREAS AND WORKSHOPS OF THE YOUTH POINT

The interview area will see the partner La Collina Cooperativa Sociale take care of the "Open Microphone", the station curated by Radio Fragola in which interviews will be made with guests and participants in the event who want to leave their impressions of the event, which can then possibly be included in podcasts and post-event communication materials.

 

The creative area / games, where you can find role-playing games, chess in collaboration with the Gorizia Chess Club, will also see the opportunity to try your hand at the Monopoly special edition Friuli Venezia Giulia, offered by Promoturismo Fvg. The various activities will be coordinated by the partner Forgotten Heroes in collaboration with the Youth Point.

 

The project budget sees, in addition to the regional contribution of 20,000 euros, a co-financing by the partner Gect Go of 8,500 euros to support some expenses related to the assignment to guests such as the illustrator Francesco Barbieri and the Viareggio Ghostbusers group Ecto 1 Italy powered by Viareggio Movie Cars, as well as a municipal co-financing of 9,500 euros.

 

The project also saw a series of preparatory activities for the event held at the Youth Point in Gorizia. The workshop curated by Forgotten Heroes was launched in June for the creation of a one-shot adventure of the role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons on the occasion of the 50th anniversary, through the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to aid creative writing and the generation of contextualized images. The workshop, which will end with the appointments of 27 August and 3 September from 4 to 6 pm, will have as a tangible result the printing of the publication produced by the participants in the workshop.

In addition, as part of the activities at the Punto Giovani, the Let's Go Paint and Sketch workshop was presented in July, which will see the following appointments on 20, 26 August and 2 and 4 September from 5.30 pm to 8 pm.
