EGTC GO meets with IUAV Venice students at SDAG

On Tuesday, October 15, the visit of the fifth year students of the IUAV Institute of Architecture of Venice opened at the SDAG conference room, aimed at getting to know the cross-border area of the municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba. This is the subject of the Interreg Italy-Slovenija project CREW-Crossing Views, with SDAG as the lead partner, together with IUAV, the University of Ljubljana, Kulturni Dom of Nova Gorica as project partners, and EGTC GO as associate partner.


In the presence of institutions such as the mayor of the Municipality of Gorizia Rodolfo Ziberna and the mayor of Šempeter-Vrtojba Milan Turk, representatives of the Customs and Monopolies Agency-Gorizia office, and SDAG Sole Administrator Giuliano Grendene, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the history of the cross-border territory and SDAG's new development projects. EGTC GO was also present with a talk by the project manager, Dr. Ezio Benedetti, who explained the events that led to the birth of EGTC GO. With SDAG, EGTC GO boasts a long-lasting collaboration, also strengthened by the newly established synergies between CREW and the BeWoP Project, also funded by the Interreg Italy-Slovenija program that aims to enhance the tourism product related to the Great War through strategic level actions for the development of the cross-border territory. The collaboration between SDAG and GECT GO was also reiterated during the speech of the CREW project contact person, Dr. Eleonora Anut, who explained the contents of the project and the synergies with the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica-Gorizia 2025.

In the afternoon, the students visited the areas of the Autoporto and the Stazione Confinaria also accompanied by Mr. Alessandro Puhali, coordinator of the Transport Committee of EGTC GO and the areas pertaining to the Municipality of Šempeter-Vrtojba,and then concluded the visit at the Nova Gorica railway station with the City Councillor of the European Capital of Culture Dr. Patrizia Artico.
