BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A network event with the goal of giving rise to short/medium term projects in the territory by uniting the subjects of the territory that can make spaces or resources available with the cultural and educational operators that can bring their own contribution to do so. The event also closes the ‘Confini liquidi/ Tekoče meje’ exhibition at Trieste Airport.

Salcano Canoe Centre, Piuma Park in Gorizia, Piedimonte 

Cleaning hike along the banks and surroundings of the Soča river (Project GO! SOČA-ISONZO)   

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The PULIAMO LE RIVE DELL'ISONZO campaign will take place along the paths along the Soča river between Salcano and Gorizia. The organiser will provide several waste collection points between the Solkan hydroelectric power plant and the Piuma park in Gorizia. Protective gloves and bags for trash will be provided. The event will take place on four routes, i.e. sectors of different lengths. Each registered participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and lunch. Organised groups will receive additional rewards. An international canoe race between Solkan and Piuma Park will also take place during the campaign. The final part of the event will take place at the Salcano Canoe Centre, where there will be entertainment with music.

Workshop "Cobalt Blue. Art as an educational tool for a new narrative on “conflict minerals” (Project PV) 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A creative workshop dedicated to boys and girls from the age of 10, up to a maximum of 40 participants. In an open and interactive dialogue with the Congolese artist Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya, and with the collaboration of the Comfort Zone art therapists and educators, the theme of ‘conflict minerals’ will be explored starting with creative practices of bodily experimentation and pictorial abstraction, incorporating cobalt blue pigments in a final practical return. The young participants will be guided by the artist-in-residence Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya in a path of knowledge and experimentation on the potential of art as an educational and therapeutic tool to reinterpret urgent current issues, connecting apparently distant but deeply interconnected geographical and cultural realities.

Community circus event "The man on the pot" (Project PS CIRKUS)  

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This year, the Man on the Pot brings two days of community circus to the sports’ centre Tabor in Ljubljana. Everyone interested in acrobatic body contortions, free or in-pairs juggling, catching your balance on the slackline, exploring aerial acrobatics, playing with different accessories or discovering the secrets of the circus suitcase and the most entertaining circus games, is invited. Or even those who simply want to have a chat and spend time in good company. The programme also promises live music, a circus parade through the city, face painting and a relaxed atmosphere.

Workshop for the community of former miners of the Idria mines and open to all citizens ‘Aperitif with the artist Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya and open studio’ (Project PV) 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The workshop, dedicated to former miners and their families, has the aim of collecting information and testimonies useful for the creation of a new cycle of artworks, also drawing on the practices of processing and transformation of raw materials, implemented by mine workers in the past.  In the relaxed atmosphere of an aperitif, tasting traditional local products, the artist Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya will be able to gather ideas and suggestions, in a process of co-creation of new artworks, whose essential features and initial experiments will be shared with the public by the artist in his atelier.    

In the event of rain, the activity will take place at the Inzaghi Machine House, Vodnikova 3, Idria.

Workshop for the community of former miners of the Idria mines and open to all citizens ‘Inauguration of new cycle of works and talk with the artist in residence Hugo Kanyingu Kabeya’ (Project PV) 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The new cycle of works created by the artist during his residency will be presented to the public during a talk at the former mercury foundry Topilnica Hg, now an important museum centre for the study and knowledge of the uniqueness of this liquid metal.    

With an open and sensitive approach to listening, which characterises his work, Hugo Kabeya will involve the public in a dialogue on his personal process of artistic reinterpretation of the mining legacy of the site, also the result of the material experiments he carried out during his stay in Idria, with the valuable support of the ID20 association and the Center for Mercury Heritage. An opportunity to meet and reflect on the capacity of contemporary art to bring to the surface, by reinterpreting them, the historical and geographical stratifications of a place.
