The walk will be circa 17 km long and will pass along breathtaking landscapes, historic villages, and old mule tracks. We will walk along hilly trails offering wonderful views on the Isonzo/Soča valley, exploring places rich in history, nature, and spirituality.

Theatre performance including dinner “Štorije s konfina/Storie di Confine” (Project KONFIN)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Considering the rich history of the border where Konvin is physically located, during summer dinners, guests will be able to watch the comedy “Štorije s konfina/Storie di Confine”. The natural stage will be located in two different countries, between the Yugoslav/Slovene and the Italian customhouses (Vipolže/Jazbine). With the intertwining of people’s traditions, a theatre group, and a natural background, people will be offered, next to the grapevines and under the trees, an unforgettable culinary and artistic experience. The performance will be presented by the theatre group Zavod Skaramuš, which already authored similar conceptual shows with professional actors. For an authentic experience, we would like to present stories that took place in both customhouses as well as along the whole cross-border area.

Laboratory for the workers of the Tekstina Company “Breakfast with the artist Ana Vujović” (Project PV)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The objective of the laboratory, dedicated to the workers of the historic Tekstina textile company, is to create an opportunity for exchange and discussion with the artist in residence, to share experiences and competences the artist might draw from for the creation of her artwork. Thanks to the relaxed atmosphere of a breakfast and to a number of simple creative and dialogue exercises, workers will be able to pass down the historic memory of the textile factory and its development over time, by exploring weaving techniques innovations and providing the artist information and inspiration to define the artwork’s compositional characters.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Moving from her piece Botanica Futura, Botanica Nova, with the cooperation of Comfort Zone’s art-therapists and pedagogues, the artist will actively engage young participants in an experimentation and imagination laboratory, to build together the humus of a future garden, where, unexpectedly, nature and synthetics, plants and plastic live alongside one another. A laboratory reflecting on the present and on the responsibilities of human beings towards an increasingly exploited and suffering natural environment, where the collective act of deconstruction and reconstruction in new combinations, analogies, and alliances, becomes a conscious and provocative creative answer.

Theatre Performance “GORA” (Project GORA)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: At the heart of the new performance “Gora”, co-produced by Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, is the legend on the birth of Gorizia and Nova Gorica. The main character of the story, an enormous Gora which becomes a hill, will be the instrument to speak about real and invisible borders. The performance, multilingual and available in two “twin” versions, has been created during a cross-border residency, where Italian and Slovenian puppet theatre actors and actresses worked alongside one another, directed by director Giulio Settimo and playwright Tajda Lipicer, both with a strong cross-border culture.

Tickets are available at the LGL Bookshop, located on the theatre ground floor, open during workdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and one hour before the event. Tickets are also available online at www.lgl.si or lgl.mojekarte.si.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Laboratory hosted by the artist in residence Ana Vujović, to develop an open space to explore new cross-border relations and new forms of interpretation of the lace-making art, taking the border back to its original value as multicultural contact and meeting place, as a making and creating place in communion with the other. Lace makers will meet in a gestural dance, inviting everybody to deconstruct the categories and expressive codes consolidated over time, creating a dialogue- and trust-based common ground, where the voices of women’s cross-border creativity will be amplified in new textile work.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A guided and participatory event aimed at discovering Casa Rossa’s border-crossing between 1947 and 1991. The audience will be able to interact with the different intertwined stories both as spectators and protagonists thanks to the support of multimedia audio and video tools. A way to get closer to the events and dynamics of a complicated as well as rich border, with respect and curiosity.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Summer 1990, between the soccer world cup and the end of socialism a mysterious homicide takes place in Nova Gorica: Nova Gorica Cold Case is an urban game designed for the spaces and history of the city, an unsolved case, which can be solved on one’s phone and on Telegram, exploring Nova Gorica and choosing first-hand the direction of the investigations, between pieces of evidence and puzzles to solve.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Thanks to the contribution of Jatun Risba, with the collaboration of Comfort Zone’s art-therapists and pedagogues and of the association NOI Monfalcone, this printing laboratory will explore the magical aspects of the world and of the organic matter supporting life on planet Earth. Moving from the concept of eco-art and from the “six living elements on Earth” theory (air, water, carbon, soil, chlorophyll, and blood), young participants will be invited to take part in an experimentation activity with chlorophyll and with the art techniques to use this sustainable material to create artworks with a strong visual and conceptual impact.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The laboratory is addressed to people suffering from muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune or neuro-degenerative diseases, and open to people interested in exploring new forms of listening and body awareness thanks to the creative approach of contemporary art. Moving from his own personal experience of recovering from multiple sclerosis and through exercises of authentic dance and somatic awareness, Jatun Risba will walk the participants through an artistic liberation and healing path, highlighting the bright nature of the body-mind nexus and awakening a sense of collective expansion and holistic well-being.

Lecture-performance “Inauguration of the lecture-performance The Intimacy of Otherness – third act, by artist Jatun Risba” (Project PV)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Udine air raid shelter will welcome the new performance by Jatun Risba, result of his artistic research carried out during his residence. Born in 2023 as an open and ongoing site-specific project, the lecture-performance brings together the personal experience of self-recovery from multiple sclerosis and the relationships and connections cultivated in contact places. The new act will benefit from the historic memory of the bunker and the relational, human, and landscape context of the cross-border area, welcoming the audience in a holistic storytelling on the topics of recovery, regeneration, and self-acceptance, against any form of discrimination and violence. The performance will be presented in a double, freely accessible execution, in respect of the maximum capacity of the venue.
