From Sagrado to the Castle of Miren
Walk through history and nature: the second stage of the Gorizian Way, Sports event/walk (Project WALK 2 SPIRIT)
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Join us and walk the second stage of the Gorizian Way, a 26-kilometer cross-border historical route from Sagrado to Miren Castle. The route passes through enchanting karst landscapes and allows you to visit places marked by World War I. It winds mostly along comfortable dirt roads among the stones of the Karst heath to reach San Martino del Carso, the top of Mount St. Michael and Brestovec. Along the Walloon Highway, you cross the border and enter Slovenia. After a few kilometers you reach the Peace Monument in Cerje and following a descent from the Karst, the stage ends at Merna Castle. This is an immersive journey through history, spirituality and unique landscapes, allowing you to rediscover traces of the past in a breathtaking natural setting. Proper hiking footwear and equipment, bring enough fluids and a packed lunch are recommended. The trail is suitable for adults and is of medium difficulty. In case of bad weather, the event will be postponed to Saturday, Nov. 16 with the same times. Free event upon registration on Eventrbite:

Photography course, Educational event ( Singers' Corners Project )
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This photography course, focused on event photography, is ideal for those who want to capture special moments of various events, such as concerts, theater performances, and other events. During the course you will learn fundamental techniques for photographing in dynamic environments, where you need to react quickly and adapt settings according to light, movement and atmosphere. In addition to theory, you will gain valuable hands-on experience, with an emphasis on photographing real events, guided by the advice of experienced professionals. You will learn how to choose the right moments, manage light and composition, and create photographs that tell the story of the event. The photography course, which combines theory and practice, will be led by renowned photographers Peter Uhan and Blaž Žnidaršič. The course is intended for all those who wish to improve their photography skills, regardless of their level of experience. Peter Uhan, a professional photographer specializing mainly in theatrical and portrait photography, but also in commercial and architectural photography, will introduce participants to how to capture emotions and dynamics in theater and portraits.

We ask course participants to bring their own camera and computer, if they have them, so that they can participate more actively in the practical exercises.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: In the Megaron Chamber Choir, alumni of the Classical Gymnasium of the Diocese sing. In its 20 years of activity, Megaron has developed into a choir of the highest caliber, which with numerous concerts in Slovenia and tours in Austria, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, the United States and Canada has become nationally and internationally known and appreciated.

Call for artists, ( ODEC Project)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The call aims to identify five new contemporary dance creations that will be part of the ODEC project One
Dance European City, along with an additional six performances drawn
from Aterballetto's Microdances repertoire. The project will take place in Gorizia and Nova Gorica from October 9 to 19, 2025. Each performance will be repeated 2 times a day for 6 performance days (total 12 performances).

docufiction workshop with Želimir Žilnik: the blurred boundaries between reality and fiction ( GO!STUDIO Project )
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:Join legendary filmmaker Želimir Žilnik for an immersive workshop exploring the art of docufiction, a hybrid genre that blends documentary and fictional storytelling techniques. With a career spanning more than 50 years, Žilnik is celebrated for his innovative approach to social commentary, using docufiction to address pressing political, cultural and personal issues. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the conceptual and practical aspects of producing docufiction films. Želimir Žilnik is an honorary graduate of the University of Nova Gorica 2024.

Workshop An introduction to climate action with Creative Carbon Scotland ( GGC Project )
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Professional training aimed at cultural organizations that want to integrate green practices into their work and want to learn about various actions that encourage ways of working as sustainably as possible. The workshop will take place online on Nov. 12 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. (CET). It will be led by Caro Overy, Green Arts Program Manager at Creative Carbon Scotland, an internationally renowned organization that supports the cultural sector in reducing its environmental impact and adapting to climate change.

Workshop on light, lighting and camera in cinema with Gregor Božič ( GO!STUDIO Project )
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:In film, framing and lighting create the atmosphere and visual focus. Conscious preparation and staging are essential to convey the message of the film, creating atmosphere, depth and emotion. A workshop on light, lighting and camera in filmmaking will be held in three sections, and is aimed at undergraduate students and young film professionals. In the first part (November), participants will focus on analyzing and practicing the use of light; in the second part (January), framing and camera use will be discussed; both parts will also feature exercises and hands-on demonstrations with equipment. In the last part (February), students will record their assignment (probably in groups).
1st Module: LIGHT (21/11/2024 at 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 22/11/2024 at 1:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
2nd Module: INQUIRING, ROOM (08/01/2025 at 9:00am-12:30pm; 10/01/2025 at 9:00am-12:30pm)
3rd Module: ASSIGNMENT (27/01/2025 at 9:30 am to 3:30 pm).
This is followed by participants' independent work in pairs. It concludes with a collective review of the material in February.
Required knowledge: Basic knowledge of film language and equipment.
