BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A discourse on the contribution of Fran Erjavec (1834-1887) to the knowledge of nature and the development of natural sciences, as well as to storytelling, in the multilingual Gorica region and the wider Slovenian area.

WITNESS CORNER MARKED II - Milestones for a border, Opening exhibition and guided walk for a collective reflection on the urban border (PV Project)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A performative restitution of the research carried out by the artist Manca Bajec during his residency with IoDeposito.

Starting from the Carinarnica cultural centre, where an exhibition will be hosted until 3 January 2025, the artist will lead a sound walk through some of the most representative places of the urban border, accompanied by the voices of its inhabitants and the surrounding sounds, and staging a playful grounding of the space.

The new milestone is both an artefact with a functional use - marking urban space, signalling the presence of an important place - and a work of art that incorporates memory, materials and local history.

Please arrive in appropriate work clothes, appropriate footwear (work shoes, mountaineering boots), bring work tools (cap, work gloves, mason's bucket). Members of all genders and generations are welcome. Drinks and lunch will be provided, please bring snacks.

In case of bad weather the workshop will be cancelled. You will be informed of the new date in due course. The workshop is free of charge. Participation is your own responsibility. Concert of vocal music - Concert of vocal ensemble ELINOR: See how the sun rises (Advent songs) (Project WALK 2 SPIRIT)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: As part of the Walk2Spirit project, the singers of the Vokalni ansambel ELINOR vocal ensemble, consisting of Marinka Golob (soprano), Barbara Barać (alto), Jakob Čuk (baritone), Jan Veljak (bass) and Robert Feguš (tenor, artistic director) will perform in the Sveta Gora Basilica. The ensemble performs Renaissance, Baroque and contemporary music, records various thematic programmes, performs in prestigious halls and participates in national and international music festivals. With selected musical works, the singers will celebrate the Advent season of expectation. The programme includes sacred music of warmth, peace and inspiration.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Mojca Volkar Trobevšek will lead the conversation with the author of the book Rok Rozman and the photographer Rožle Bregar. The talk will be followed by the opening of the photo exhibition.
