From 14 to 16 January 2026, within the framework of the FLIP project, funded by the Erasmus+ European programme, the EGTC GO took part in the third international study visit, organised in Nicosia, Cyprus, by the partner organisation C.I.P. – Citizens in Power, actively involving young students from the local area.

Two young students from Gorizia, already engaged in the outreach activities of GO! 2025, participated in the initiative, accompanied by EGTC GO project managers Ezio Benedetti and Federica Gallus.

Over the three working days, participants took part in thematic workshops, collaborative working sessions and moments of discussion focusing on the main challenges and opportunities addressed by the FLIP project. In particular, young participants were involved in group activities aimed at developing project ideas with a focus on the needs of new generations in their respective local contexts.

A central role was played by the application of a participatory simulation method, through which young people were able to experience first-hand the dynamics of a democratic decision-making process within a hypothetical municipal youth council.

The activities included the presentation of the developed project ideas, which were subsequently put to a vote by the participants in order to identify those considered the most sustainable and realistically implementable. The study visit concluded with interactive workshops designed to strengthen young people’s skills in the areas of active participation, participatory budgeting, European citizenship and social innovation.

The participation of the EGTC GO and the students from Gorizia helped to strengthen the cross-border and youth dimension of the project, promoting the exchange of experiences and the direct involvement of new generations in European cooperation processes.
