Food and Wine Event “Malvasia in Porto / Malvazije v pristanu” (Project BORDERLESS OKUS) 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Slow flavours by the sea: Malvasia wines and master artisans in the harbor Wines from small producers, artisanal baked goods and other delicacies will be the protagonists of the seaside festival “Malvasia in Porto – Malvazije v Pristanu”, now in its sixth edition. The event, which will see the participation of at least 30 winemakers and 5 bread artisans, will be held on Friday 1st August, from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, at Porto San Rocco, in Muggia. 

“Malvasia in Porto / Malvazije v pristanu”, born in 2019 thanks to the GAL Carso / LAS Kras, aims to promote the local food and wine sector, enhancing wines and products from small companies that still work manually in the vineyard and cellar, using environmentally friendly raw materials to create flavours that evoke conviviality and tradition.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Artists and food designers Philipp Kolmann (AT) and Suzanne Berhnardt (NL) will be hosted by Robida in Topolò/Topolove in order to explore ancient fruit varieties of the Natisone Valleys and of the Goriška Brda and to re-imagine their uses through events and laboratories open to the public. 

“We are exploring the features of both forgotten and celebrated protagonists of the past and the present. Transforming seasonal flavours and textures in events, we reminisce together, and we imagine how the unusual can be made ordinary again. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: From Nice to Gorizia is a musical play about the history of Gorizia and the creation of Nova Gorica, during which documentary content is intertwined with the love story of the protagonists. The content is in four languages - Slovenian, Italian, German and Friulian - and the performance is subtitled in Slovenian and Italian. The action tells the story of four generations and the history of Gorizia, from the arrival of the heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, at the opening of the North Railway Station in 1906, to the fall of the border in 2004, and the celebrations in Europe Square.

The basketball content will be enriched with activities that will fill their free time. There will also be a "Street art" workshop, which could be said to belong somehow to the basketball subculture.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: EX is an expanded exploration of the area surrounding Gorizia’s old cotton mill. A walk with wireless headphones attempting to fill with stories an empty space, a space where there is nothing and where nothing happens. For the local community, the old cotton mill represented more than a mere workplace; it represented a square, a meeting point, a battlefield, and for someone a place with no way out. Now it is a deserted area, with no access from the outside, strictly separated from inside spaces, making it impossible to even gather around it. The voice of someone who does not experience this kind of separation will tell the audience the story of a space, which is paradoxically waiting to be occupied.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The audience will be able to listen, by the Isonzo/Soča river, to the voices of an audio-documentary narrating the threshold-landscape located in front of them. Guiding the audience beyond the border is a photographic guide, whose antique flavour makes certain archaic rituals, surviving along the threshold between human and wilderness - represented by the river, seem real.

Film “Beyond Zero: 1914-1918” (Progetto GGC) 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: "Beyond Zero: 1914–1918" is a project by Serbo-American composer Aleksandra Vrebalov and US director Bill Morrison, completed in 2014 – a universal artistic reflection transcending time. The artwork brings film and music together: Morrison edited a touching film realised with archive material from the First World War, while Vrebalov composed for the occasion a string quartet. The composition blends together significant elements of the music of the time with a clear message: “Never again war!”. The piece will be performed live by the renowned Austrian string quartet Acies Quartet. “Beyond Zero: 1914-1918” is part of the project Art against the Rifle, by the association Mink Tolmin, and is part of the official programme GO! 2025 Nova Gorica – Gorizia European Capital of Culture.

Incredible Bob will curate the bright set design of the evocative scenic space, while the Kinoatelje expert team will be responsible for the technical aspects of the event. The initiative has been realised in collaboration with the Interreg Italia-Slovenija Project BeWoP and “Suoni della Pace”.
