I Am B, theather play (ARTPUP Project)
Kulturni Center Lojze Bratuž, Viale XX Settembre, 85, Gorizia
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: In an over-protective society, where every out-of-the-ordinary ambition is nipped in the bud, a child grows up surrounded by expectations of normality: his family guides him towards a conventional life, silencing his boldest dreams and most extravagant fantasies. As he grows up, he becomes an adult with a seemingly perfect life. Yet, inside him, an irrepressible desire to escape continues to pulsate, driving him to look beyond the horizon. One day, almost for fun, he decides to take on a seemingly simple challenge, that soon turns into a competition against his own limits: between the sky and the sea, he discovers the courage and beauty of diving into a breathtaking adventure, swimming into the unknown, until his last breath. A play about the part of us that, perhaps, would have wanted us to dare more in life; to discover that limits are just a finger pointed to what lies beyond, and that behind every apparent normality hides a sea of unexplored possibilities.

Performance, (Progetto ARTPUP)
Gymnasium Nova Gorica Delpinova ulica 9, Nova Gorica
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 2xGO is the result of a project conceived by CTA Gorizia and Slow Coop from the Province of Udine. The protagonist of the show is the city of Gorizia/Nova Gorica. Its portrait is created with photographs taken by the inhabitants of Gorizia and Nova Gorica in different locations and at different times in both cities. The life of a city is the life of its inhabitants, which remains captured in the moment of the snapshot. The selected images are complemented by objects that add a third dimension to the two-dimensional world of photography and come to life through movement and sound. The performance combines the versatile talent of multi-instrumentalist and performer Leo Virgili with the grace and skill of flutist and puppet theatre actress Urška Cvetko, under the creative direction of Ljubljana-based dramaturge and theatre director Jelena Sitar. The musicians create new visions of the city, playing and improvising with music, images and objects. 2xGO was already a project of a group of painters and sculptors from Gorizia and Nova Gorica, then still in Yugoslavia, led by art historian and journalist Sandi Sitar at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s. They wanted to overcome/transcend the border with art.
Free admission, reservations welcome by phone +39 0481537280/ +39 3351753049, also via WhatsApp
